As per the RBI guidelines, device binding has been enabled in TMB MBank app.

  • Users to click "SEND SMS" to start registration for the first time.
  • For dual SIM phones, application will prompt for the SIM selection and users to select the SIM for which the mobile number is registered with the Bank
  • Standard SMS charges will be applicable during registration, ensure that the balance are sufficient to send SMS (One SMS Cost).
  • Ensure mobile data / Internet connection ON.
  • Make sure that the SIM is not disabled under settings -> SIM Management to avoid failure during registration
  • If the customer wants to change the device then, customer should re-register the mobile application, uninstall the application in old handset , download the app in new handset and repeat the above mentioned steps.

Be safe from Scams / threats by following the below mentioned guidelines:


  • Always review the mobile application's details such as, number of downloads, user reviews, comments and "ADDITIONAL INFORMATION" section before downloading the application from the recognised app/play store
  • Ensure "Offered by" in Google Play store has Bank Name as 'Tamilnad Mercantile Bank' before downloading 'TMB MBank' app in your Android Devices
  • Ensure "Provider" in App Store has Bank Name as 'Tamilnad Mercantile Bank' before downloading 'TMB MBank' app in your iOS Devices
  • Install and maintain updated antivirus solution on  your mobile devices. Scan the suspected mobile device with antivirus solutions to detect and clean infections
  • Install Android updates and patches as and when available from Android vendors
  • Verify app permissions and grant only those permissions, which have relevant context for the app's purpose
  • Choose a complex PIN, so that it is non-guessable. Also change your login pin and transaction pin at regular Intervals
  • Review your account statements frequently to check for any unauthorized transactions
  • Report a lost or stolen phone immediately to your service provider and law enforcement authorities
  • Don’t forget to inform the bank of changes in your mobile number to ensure that SMS notifications are not sent to someone else
  • Be cautious while using Bluetooth in public places as someone may access your confidential data/information
  • Be careful about the websites you are browsing, if it does not look authentic, do not download anything from it
  • Be cautious while accepting offers such as caller tunes or dialer tunes or while opening/downloading email attachments from known or unknown sources


  • Do not download and install applications from untrusted sources offered via unknown websites/ links on unscrupulous messages. Install apps downloaded only from the app/play store
  • Don't install 'TMB MBank' app in JailBreak/Rooted Devices
  • Don't install any Remote Desktop Application in your Android/iOS devices to avoid risk of fraudster gaining access to your mobile Phones, which may lead to financial losses
  • Do not use personal details like name, Date of Birth, names and common patterns while choosing your PIN
  • Never give/share your PIN or confidential information over the phone or internet. Never share these details with anyone
  • Don’t store sensitive information such as credit card details, mobile banking PIN and user ID in your phone
  • Never reveal or write down PINs or retain any email or paper communication from the bank with regard to the PIN or password
  • Don’t click on links embedded in emails/social networking sites claiming to be from the bank or representing the bank
  • Don’t transfer funds without due validation of the recipient, as funds once transferred cannot be reversed
  • Don't use unsecured networks for the purpose of safeguarding the data

1. What is TMB MBank? Why should I apply for it?
TMB MBank is a mobile banking application that can be downloaded on your phone and can be used to conduct banking operations/transactions on your TMB Bank accounts from your mobile phones. With this you can access account information, fund transfer, recharge prepaid mobile number, DTH, book airline & bus tickets etc. You can access information and transact on your TMB Bank accounts with the help of your mobile phone anytime and anywhere.

2.Who can avail TMB MBank facility?
If you are TMB Bank customer with a individual or Proprietorship relation with the bank with a valid savings/current/OD account, you can avail Mobile Banking facility by registering with us.TMB offers Mobile Banking facility to all its resident customers.

3.How can I avail TMB MBank facility?
As a TMB Bank customer, you can register for MBank appby using the ATM card details or by using Internet Banking details in MBank app.If both the card and Internet Banking are not available customer can register using the branch pin generated by visiting the branch.

4. Is there any charges for transactions through TMB MBank app?
TMB offers mobile banking facility free to all its customers for IMPS,NEFT, RTGS , bill payments, mutual funds, ticket booking, recharge and cardless cash withdrawals.

5. How can I register in TMB MBank app?
Customer has to download the app from recognised store and once the app is installed it would as for device binding for which registered mobile number should be in handset used. SMS would be sent from registered mobile for device binding. Once registeration is completed, customer can set the Mpin, Login Pin and enjoy using the MBank app. Customer should have active SMS tarrif or sufficient main balance for sending the SMS for registration.

6. How can I register in another handset if already registered in some other device?
The registered mobile number should be available in handset used for registeration and so the user can use the application only in single device at a particular time.If customer wants to register in new device insert the registered mobile number sim in the particular handset, download the application and proceed with registration process.

7. What are the options available in TMB MBank for setting the Login and transaction pin for first time?
The customer can set the Mpin and login pin by using three options as Debit card details, Intenet Banking details and also Branch pin.

8. What is branch pin? Is it different from login pin?
The generation of Login Pin and transaction pin can be done by using the branch pin option. The Branch pin is obtained by contacting branch only if the customer doesn't have the Internet Banking and Debit card options for registering in MBank. The Branch pin gets expired once    login/transaction pin are set.

9. How can I reset the login/ Transaction pin?
The Login/ Transaction pin can be reset by using the forgot pin option. The same requires Debit card details/Internet Banking details/ Branch pin.

10.What is different between login and transaction pin?
The login pin is six digit number used for logging into the MBank application where as the transaction pin is four digit pin used for authenticating any kind of transaction inside the application.

11. How can the genuinity of application can be known?
Kindly download the application from reputed market only (i.e) App store for IOS and Playstore for Android. Do not use any unauthorised links for download of application.
